Heads up, fans of Re-Entry

Firefly (AKA Deadcat and Deadcat with a flamethrower on Tumblr) will be taking down her epic Re-Entry soon, if she hasn't already. The reason is a new and frightening so-called 'terms of service' thing from Disney (read section seven, it's terrifying/) that has fans scrambling. If you have any favorite stories I'd advise you to download them now. I won't be doing anything because I'm old and I'd like to see them try it (and they might, they've already done it to a few fan creators). Our only hope is OTW and their team of lawyers, because this can't be legal under any definition (but we're living in tRump's dystopia, so what do I know).

Does that mean stuff on theforce.net and fanfiction.net, too?

According to the wording on that highly unethical and possibly illegal TOS, it's any public space, therefore the entire internet is included. They've gone after a YouTuber and an artist to my knowledge, and gotten away with it. If the OTW goes after them, what can they do? I mean, it's Disney. I'm not taking my stuff down, but I can't blame Firefly for doing so.

I went to look for my stuff on theforce.net and they must have done something because I couldn't find any of my stories on the juried fanfic page (I couldn't find the juried fanfic page at all nor my user name on there). If I have to take stuff down from ff.net I will. It all depends on how hard arsed they are going to be.

I'm leaving my stuff on AO3 because, well, I'm old and I don't care any more, plus I trust the OTW to have my back as much as they can. This feels like Disney's attempt to bring back the bad old days of Anne Rice C&D letters and I really hope it doesn't succeed.

I wonder if having your works on ao3 be accessible to logged in members only would alleviate the 'public' thing.

I ended up putting all my AO3 SW stories under members only. I don't know if that would help but might as well.
